Sections of Resume

There are some basic sections of a resume. They are enumerated below:
Resume Section
  • Objective
  • Work Experience
  • Educational Qualification
  • Co-curricular / Extra Activities
  • Personal Memorandum / Details
Objective: This section of resume is very important because it is a statement made by you about what you expect and want from the job. You should tell the employer why they should hire you, i.e. present such relevant points to the employer that you can offer.

Work / Educational Experience: As the name suggests, this resume section should talk about the professional, volunteering experience / educational qualifications, some special certification, etc. if you possess.

Co-curricular / Extra Activities: Give relevant information here, something that suits to the job you want. Irrelevant information will only create a negative image.

* Remember, it is nothing like 'longer the resume better it is.' This is a myth.

Personal Memorandum / Details: Your middle name, date of birth, gender, religion, mother tongue, marital status. This resume section is optional.
